The Open University of China (OUC) officially established its School of the Arts on July 3, 2013. The opening ceremony was attended by Zhang Shuanggu, vice president and secretary-general of the Chinese Society for Educational Development Strategy, and Yan Bing, vice president of the OUC.
Five-Minute Lectures (http://wfz.nerc-edu.com/), a new website designed by the Open University of China (OUC), was officially launched on July 3, 2013 by professor Li Defang, secretary-general of the National Networked Consortium for the Education of Teachers, Feng Xuefei, president of Tianjin RTVU (OUC Tianjin Branch), and Li Linshu, vice president of the OUC.

On July 3, the Open University of China (OUC) held a Weibo debate competition with the theme of “Will MOOCs take the place of traditional education?” as a part of the Exhibition to Celebrate Phased Achievements at the First Anniversary of the OUC and the Week for Cultural Learning. A total of eight debaters from the proposing team and opposition team



On July 3, 2013, the MOE Research and Development Center for the Integration and Application of Digital Learning Technologies (hereinafter referred to as the R & D Centre) was inaugurated in the Open University of China (OUC). Professor Liu Yanshen, Vice Director of the National Engineering Research Center for E-learning and the OUC President Yang Zhijiang unveiled the center.

On the afternoon of June 27th, Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the 2013 National Vocational Students Skill Competition Achievements Exhibition and visited the exhibition hall of the Open University of China (OUC). She was accompanied on her visit by Mayor Huang Xingguo of Tianjin Municipality, Education Minister Yuan Guiren,
