In May 2006, with the support and guidance of the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), the Open University of China (OUC) and Michigan State University (MSU) jointly established the world’s first online Confucius Institute conducting Chinese teaching via Internet-based means, the Confucius Institute at Michigan State University (CI-MSU in short) .

The Joint Learning Centre of the OUC and OUT
The Joint Learning Centre (JLC), which was constructed with the mutual efforts of the Open University of China (OUC) and the Open University of Tanzania (OUT), was established in July 2018.
Guided by the general development goals of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (AFROC), and relying on the advantages of the OUC's teaching resources and platform, the OUC’s Huaqiao College plays a leading role among open universities in constructing a lifelong educational system and a learning-oriented society.
