From 19-20 November, the 2024 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, themed  "Embracing a People-Centred, and AI-for-Good Digital Future --- Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace", commenced in Wuzhen, Zhejiang.

From 17 to 21 November 2024, under the arrangements of the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, Fan Xianrui, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of the Open University of China (OUC), led a delegation to visit Dubai.

Recently, a delegation led by Prof. Dr. Esraa Mohamed, Cultural Counsellor of Embassy of the A.R. of Egypt Cultural Office in Beijing, China, visited the Open University of China (OUC). Fan Xianrui, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of the OUC, met with the visitors. The two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on building the Egypt Open Learning Centre and other cooperation programmes.

At the invitation of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL), Fan Xianrui, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of the Open University of China (OUC, also known as Seniors University of China, SUC), participated in an online interview with experts from UIL's Education Project Group for Older Adults on 11 November 2024.

Recently, the Open University of China (OUC) and the Hellenic Open University (HOU) held an online special meeting to discuss cooperation on international curriculum resources and other related matters.

On 28 October 2024, Liu Xuanxuan, vice president of the Open University of China (OUC), met with a delegation led by Dr. Matthew Landu, pro-vice chancellor of the University of Goroka (UOG) in Papua New Guinea.

On 9 October 2024, Harlena Harris, programme director of the Human Resources Development Working Group (HRDWG) of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), sent a letter to Fan Xianrui, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of the Open University of China (OUC),  congratulating the successful completion of the international collaborative research project "Fostering Digital Competency, Building Re-Employment Capacity, and Enhancing Well-being for Older Adults in the Digital Economy" (Project No.: CN HRD 05 2022A).

To facilitate the smooth progress of the ASEAN-China Digital Education Alliance's initiatives, the first online meeting of the Alliance Research Committee was organised by the Open University of China (OUC), the Alliance’s Secretariat, on 27 September 2024.
