From 19-20 November, the 2024 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, themed "Embracing a People-Centred, and AI-for-Good Digital Future --- Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace", commenced in Wuzhen, Zhejiang.
Among the entries reviewed by a panel of esteemed global experts, the Open University of China’s (OUC) APEC project case on "Fostering Digital Competency, Building Re-employment Capacity, and Enhancing Well-being for Younger Older Adults in the Digital Economy," stood out and was included in the 2024 collection of "Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace".
The "Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace" practice case presentation is one of the pivotal components of the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit. Since its inception in 2021, it has been held for four consecutive years and has gradually become an important platform for promoting and interpreting President Xi Jinping's concept of building a community with a shared future in cyberspace and facilitating international exchanges and cooperation in cyberspace. The 2024 practice case collection comprises five sections: network infrastructure construction, online cultural exchanges, digital economy innovation and development, cybersecurity assurance, and international governance of cyberspace. The APEC project case of the OUC was included in the online cultural exchange section. The case highlights the OUC's collaborative research activities with leading domestic universities, which have produced a series of research reports, works, courses, and seminars. These initiatives have benefited multiple economies across the Asia-Pacific region. This case further underscores China's efforts and explorations in developing online platforms for cultural exchange and sharing, aiming to foster mutual learning and enhance interactions.
