Beijing, 24 April 2025 - Professor May Anne E. Mata, Director of the Mindanao Office of Research Centre and Head of the Division of Complexity under the Intelligent Systems Centre R&D Department of University of the Philippines (UP), along with Dr. Jomar Fajardo Rabajante, Dean of the Graduate School and Professor at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Physics of UP Los Bafios, visited the Open University of China (OUC).

They were warmly welcomed by FAN Xianrui, Vice President of OUC, and heads from Lifelong Education Research Institute, Department of Digitalisation, Experimental College, and College of International Education.

During the meeting, Vice President FAN extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the university’s development, educational features, and the cooperation with UP. She expressed her hope that this meeting would mark the beginning of deeper friendly exchanges and more cooperation in higher education and digital education, and the two parties could jointly promote the digital transformation of education and forge a new landscape of win-win cooperation. 

Professors May Anne Mata and Jomar Rabajante presented UP’s educational status, vision, and mission, as well as its initiatives and explorations in advancing educational digitalisation. They conveyed their eagerness to deepen exchanges with OUC in areas such as innovative talent cultivation, co-construction and sharing of resources, and collaborative academic research, thereby further strengthening bilateral ties. 

The delegation also visited the Weigongcun Campus of OUC, where they held discussions with the Experimental College and Engineering Centre. They engaged in in-depth exchanges on potential cooperation in AI curriculum design, as well as research and application of digital technologies.
