On October 15, a six-person delegation led by Dr. Chailerd Pichitpornchai, President of Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (STOU) and Dr. Richard Ng, Director of the Learning Centre of the Open University Malaysia (OUM) visited Beijing Open University (BOU). BOU Vice President Jiang Rao met the visiting guests and introduced the university’s history and construction. Representatives from the Academic Affairs Department, Resource Construction Service Centre and Student Affairs Centre held a meeting with the assembled guests.
BOU Vice President Jiang Rao remarked that the university has sent an increasing number of teachers to STOU to further their studies as friendly exchanges increased between the two universities in recent years. These interactive exchanges have made it possible for both universities to share valuable experiences, and to cooperate for mutual development through further exchanges and visits.
The STOU president and OUM Learning Centre director introduced the recent achievements of their respective universities. They exchanged views and discussed various issues of common interest, such as online teaching methods, learner support and fields of potential future cooperation.
