In June 2016, the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced the first group of shared courses titled “National High-Quality Course Resources,” which included 160 courses from universities like Peking University.
On 15th December 2017, a delegation led by the honorary president of the Open University of Tanzania, former prime minister of Tanzania Mizengo Pinda, as well as the Chinese ambassador to Tanzania, Lyu Youqing, visited the Open University of China (OUC).
On 13th December 2017, a work meeting of the Confucius Institute at Michigan State University (MSU), the first of its kind after the renewal of a new ten-year cooperation agreement between the Open University of China(OUC) and MSU in February 2017, was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi province.
On 8th December 2017, the National Language Resource Monitoring Centre of China announced the “Top Ten Chinese Media Buzzwords 2017.”
In the 2017 autumn semester the amount of visits to the OUC’s learning network increased significantly. As of 6th December, the total number of requests nationwide reached 2.813 billion, amounting to 130.99TB of network traffic.

OUC’s Continuing Education Base for National Professional and Technical Personnel Praised by Experts
On 8th December, 2017, a special acceptance review meeting was held to evaluate the Continuing Education Base for National Professional and Technical Personnel (shortened to “the base”) of the Open University of China (OUC).
The 12th Confucius Institute Conference was held in Xi’an from 12-13th December 2017.
