On 10th September 2018, the Open University of China (OUC) celebrated 2018 Teachers’ Day and held commendation conference for all university leaders, faculty, and staff.

OUC president and secretary of the OUC Party Committee Yang Zhijian delivered a speech for Teachers’ Day. Yang Zhijian sent his greetings to faculty and staff at frontline teaching, research, management, and service posts. He said that the new era has started a new journey therefore it is expected that the whole faculty and staff would engage in in-depth study of the new era socialism with Chinese characteristics proposed by Xi Jinping. They should voluntarily practice the core values of socialism, and embrace the sense of honour and responsibility of being a teacher, stick to their original missions and work hard to further promote the reform and development of the OUC, and contribute to boosting the construction of a learning-oriented society and facilitating educational equality.


OUC vice president Liu Chen hosted the conference, commending faculty and staff who have worked at the OUC for more than 30 years as well as groups and individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the 2017-2018 school year.
