From 15-28th October 2017, a delegation of 14 full-time teachers from the Open University of China (OUC) led by deputy secretary of the OUC Party Committee, Liu Xianghong, visited the University of Toronto (UT) and Athabasca University (AU) in order to develop cooperation in scientific research and academic exchanges.

The inauguration ceremony of the first overseas learning centre of the Open University of China (OUC), the OUC Learning Centre in Zambia, was held at Chambishi park in Zambia-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (ZCCZ), in Chambishi, the third largest city in Zambia, on 18th October 2017.
The development and implementation of the Teachers Network-Based Training Programme (TNBTP) (2015-2017), as part of the Training Plan for Primary and Secondary School Teachers (TPPSST) of the Open University of China (OUC) has improved the information technology application abilities of teachers in 13,163 kindergartens, primary, and secondary schools in Sichuan province.
