On 22 April 2019, a delegation from Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) visited the Open University of China (OUC).

The Education Research Institute of the Open University of China (OUC) has been working together with other OUC sectors to strengthen exchanges with international open and distance educational organisations and open universities from around the world in order to promote international academic research — in particular, cooperative academic research with open universities along the Belt and Road routes — and expand the OUC’s influence in the field of international open and distance education.

“The state provides us with free training, together with a 1000-yuan scholarship, which is a real benefit”, said one student who had just received an OUC ”Long March" Poverty-alleviation scholarship on the morning of 20 April, 2019. 78 students each received a scholarship.

The selection of the “2018 Open University of China (OUC) Outstanding Graduates” has been completed and 482 students have been honoured with the title.

Li Bei, of the Yao nationality, majored in Law in the class of 2007.

Li Bei has been a Communist Party member for 12 years, and is political commissar and Party branch secretary of the Public Security Detachment of the Loudi Public Security Bureau in Hunan province. She has been named “National Outstanding Communist Party Member” and “National Top-level Policewoman”, among other titles, and given a level-two public-security award.

On 14 April 2019, an opening ceremony for the second group of pilot projects on Multimodal Teaching Reform on Public English was held at Baoding Radio and TV University (Baoding RTVU) in Hebei Province. Tang Yiting is an associate professor, and a member of the China Medical Education Association. Since July 2002, she has been a course leader in Nursing, Pharmacy and other majors at the Open University of China (OUC), involved in distance teaching and teaching management. Since 2008, she has served as the head of the Department of Medicine and dean of the School of Medicine.

Yang Qiu, a member of the Communist Party of China, joined the army in 2005, completed the Administrative Management undergraduate programme at the Jingzhou branch of Hubei Radio & TV University in 2014, and now serves with the Hubei Jingzhou fire brigade. In his 13 years of service, comrade Yang has never forgotten his original mission, and focuses on always enhancing his studies and service;
