On 10th and 11th October, 2017, the Open University of China’s (OUC) law major held its annual meeting in Zhuhai. The theme of this annual meeting is "Teaching Reform of OUC’s Law Major and the Development of Key Majors".
On 2nd November, 2017, the 2017 China International Distance Education Conference’s opening ceremony kicked off in Beijing. The education gala was held one week after the conclusion of the remarkable 19th National Congress of the CPC. It was sponsored by Distance Education in China, and enjoyed international participation. Thousands of people, including network educators, managements, practitioners, and researchers in the continuing education field, gathered in Beijing to discuss perspectives on network education and the development of continuing education.
From 15-28th October 2017, a delegation of 14 full-time teachers from the Open University of China (OUC) led by deputy secretary of the OUC Party Committee, Liu Xianghong, visited the University of Toronto (UT) and Athabasca University (AU) in order to develop cooperation in scientific research and academic exchanges.
From 12-13th November 2017, a meeting on teaching work in the economics and management majors of the Open University of China (OUC) was held in Zhuhai, Guangdong province with the aim of further deepening teaching and educational reform, comprehensively improving teaching quality, and promoting the construction and reform of these key developing majors.
Nanjing Open University for the Elderly (Nanjing OU for the Elderly) was inaugurated at the launch ceremony of “Nanjing Lifelong Learning Activity Week” on 28th October 2017.
On 9th November, 2017, the Open University of China (OUC) and Guangdong Banwokao Network Technology Co., Ltd. (Banwokao in short) signed an agreement on the OUC Teachers' Qualification Online Education Programme in Beijing.
To implement the spirit of operating an efficient continuing education system, accelerating the construction of a learning society, and strongly enhancing the nation’s quality, goals put forth at the 19th National Congress of the CPC central committee, a "Lifelong Learning, U-Learning, and Future Learning" themed Launch Seminar for the Online Credit Bank & Credit Bank Construction was held in Beijing.
In his report at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping said, “We should mobilise the energies of our whole Party, our whole country, and our whole society, and continue to implement targeted poverty reduction and alleviation measures.”
