Beijing, 11 October 2025 - The Open University of China (OUC) welcomed its new students majored in AI and Course-Learning Project for 2025 fall semester. OUC President WANG Qiming, Vice President FAN Xianrui and Distinguished Professor GAO Xiaopeng attended the event, together with students and faculty representatives from relevant departments. More than 200 new students participated online.

On 3 September 2025, a grand military parade was held in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. A group of Experimental College students from the Open University of China (OUC) were honoured to be on-site, sharing in the solemn and inspiring moment as it unfolded. They are representatives from various walks of life - entrepreneurs, artists, front-line workers and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) servicemen.
The 26th (2025) 'Star of Outlook' Talent Show National Finals successfully concluded. CEN Bo, an undergraduate student majoring in Business English at Shenzhen OU, won the champion.
The 14th Plenary Session of the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF) has concluded. YE Linwei - National Model Worker, China Youth May Fourth Medal recipient, and outstanding alumnus of the Open University of China (OUC) - was elected ACYF Vice Chairman.
Beijing, 30 June 2025 - The State Council Information Office (SCIO) held a press conference for Chinese and foreign media in Beijing. With the theme of "Pioneers on the New Era’s Journey," the event invited National Models of Self-Reliance from across China to share their inspiring stories and exchange views with journalists on "promoting the spirit of self-strengthening and gathering the strength to forge ahead." CHEN Liangjie, an alumnus of Zhejiang Open University (Zhejiang OU), attended the conference as one of the National Models of Self-Reliance. He shared his striving story, showcasing to the world the optimistic, enterprising, and indomitable spirit of people with disabilities.
From 2 to 3 July 2025, the 14th National Committee of the All-China Youth Federation and the 28th National Congress of the All-China Students’ Federation convened in Beijing.
ZHANG Zhijie, a graduate of the School for the Disabled at the Open University of China (OUC), has been awarded the title of "National Self-Improvement Model" at the 7th National Commendation Conference for Self-Improvement Models and Advanced Units for Disability Assistance. The conference honoured 200 "National Self-Improvement Models", alongside 200 "Advanced Collectives in Work for Persons with Disabilities" and 60 "Advanced Individuals in Work for Persons with Disabilities".
