Recently, Mr. Zhang, who works for a small education-technology company, easily obtained his personal "credit-bank" educational data via the "Learning in Zhejiang" page of the "Zhejiang Affairs Handling (Zheliban)" app.

A series of study-tour "Landscape Appreciation" activities organised by the University for Older Adults of the Open University of China (OUC) kicked off on 25 August 2021. Its enthusiastic participants, students in the university’s Colored Ink class, visited Yuyuantan Park in Beijing to paint.

Recently, the Department of Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced a list of publications selected from university presses around the country in 2021. China Spirit, which was edited and produced by the Multimedia Press of the Publishing & Media Group of the Open University of China (OUC), was successfully selected for the list.

Recently, A Choice of History: Marxism and the Birth of the CPC, a Party history featured film edited and produced by the Multimedia Press under the Publishing & Media Group of the Open University of China (OUC), was successfully included in the list of topics for key publications in 2021 announced by the General Office of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

The Experimental School of the Open University of China (OUC) participated in the 7th China International Internet Plus College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on behalf of the OUC headquarters, bringing back nine 1st-, ten 2nd -, and five 3rd – place awards in the vocational-education competition in Beijing.

On 8 July 2021, Professor Shahbaz Khan, the new Resident Representative in the Beijing office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in China, visited the Open University of China (OUC) with his delegation. Professor Khan gave high praise to the OUC’s achievements in using information technology to continue offering equitable access to education during Covid-19. On 21 July, Professor Khan wrote to Jing Degang, secretary of the OUC Party Committee and OUC president, to reiterate his position.

The recent extreme rainfall in Henan province caused serious flooding in many areas there, and with flood season having arrived, similar risk exists throughout China. In response to this situation, the Open University of China (OUC) arranged for its Learning Resources Department (Digital Library) to coordinate with the MOE Research & Training Centre for Community Education and the OUC Publishing & Media Group to release the non-degree resource “Life Security and Emergency Self-rescue” through the university’s official Bilibili account in order to keep the public informed.
