On 7 September 2020, the Financial Management Department of the National Government Offices Administration (NGOA) and the Open University of China (OUC) jointly held an opening ceremony to launch the resource sharing platform for the universities for older adults affiliated to China’s state organs. Wang De, director of the Financial Management Department of the NGOA, and Jing Degang, secretary of the Party committee and president of the OUC, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

On 4 September 2020, the Financial Management Department of the National Government Offices Administration (NGOA) signed a cooperation agreement with the Open University of China (OUC) to jointly build a resource sharing platform for universities for older adults affiliated to China’s state organs.

In a list released by the Ministry of Education on 4 September 2020, Professor Gao Hang, an external lecturer of the Open University of China (OUC), and 11 other teachers, including Zhong Nanshan and Zhang Boli, were selected as “National Role Models of Teaching and Education.”

A ceremony to mark the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement on the innovative application of 5G + distance education between the Tianjin branch of the Open University of China (OUC) and Tianjin Mobile Communication Co. Ltd, China Mobile’s Tianjin division, was held on 2 September 2020.

The “Realising Dreams of Further Education” programme for migrant workers in Fujian, since its implementation in 2017, has enabled over 34,000 workers to gain degree education. Among the first graduates, the degrees open new career opportunities for some, while for others they enhance their learning abilities and salaries.

The topic of this “first class” was “Building a First-Class Global Open University.”

On 21 August 2020, “ Open Educational Resources for Inclusive Education ”, a forum of the 2020 Global Smart Education Conference, was held at Beijing Normal University.
