In order to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Open University of China (OUC) and Zhongtuyunchuang Smart Technology (Beijing), a subsidiary of China National Publications Import & Export Group (CNPIEC), have jointly launched "Lectures on Red Current and Starlight", a series of party-history lectures presented via immersive virtual reality and targeting national ideological and political education.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the Party Committee, Discipline-inspection Commission, and Trade Union organisations directly under the Ministry of Education (MOE) held an exhibition of excellent works of calligraphy, painting and photography, and invited experts to review the exhibits.

Members of the OUC Party Committee and leadership team, Party members throughout the university, and all faculty watched it in person or online.
A meeting to commend outstanding members of the Communist Party of China (CPC), outstanding Party affairs workers, and advanced Party organisations at the grassroots levels of China’s central and state organs was held in Beijing on 24 June 2021.
On 25 June 2021, the Open University of China (OUC) held a conference in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), as well as the “July 1” commendation to award commemorative medals celebrating “glorious 50 years as a CPC member” to senior people with five decades of party membership.
On 28 and 29 June 2021, the Open University of China (OUC) and Hebei Open University (Hebei OU) held the “Training Class for New Employees of Hebei OU System” in Beijing. A total of 73 trainees, who are representatives of faculty members newly employed by the Hebei OU System in the past three years, participated in the event, which was organised into several sessions including listening to expert reports, visiting a red education base and engaging in Party history learning and education, sharing learning achievements, and giving a summary of the event.
On 21 June 2021, the Open University of China (OUC) and the Open University in the UK (OUUK) jointly held an online teacher-training workshop for teachers from the OUC headquarters, aiming to enhance their capacity for both teaching and innovation. It consisted of three sessions covering online tutoring skills, class design, and curriculum and MOOC production. 30 teachers from the OUC’s ten departments were selected to participate.
