After more than a year of construction, the Open University of China (OUC) has launched its “smart library” website (library.ouchn.edu.cn) to over 5 million current faculty and students and over 20 million alumni, offering access to stable, convenient and extensive digital resources.

The initiative, in facilitating the use of information technology, aims to optimise the user experience and enhance the library’s ability to serve teaching and research.

Homepage of the website

Unlike the former website, this one focuses on user needs as well as resources and services, with a neater and clearer style in terms of display of resources and layout of functions, enhancing flexibility and access.

The website will continue to be a focus in terms of enrichment of functions and applications, with extensive training offered in its use to ensure that satisfactory service is provided to millions of faculty, students and alumni, and the use of IT at the OUC and the cause of lifelong learning for all are promoted.
