An unveiling ceremony of Heilongjiang Open University for Older Adults was held recently at Heilongjiang Radio and TV University (Heilongjiang RTVU). Wang Shicheng, deputy director of Heilongjiang Civil Affairs Department; Ding Zhexue, deputy inspector of Heilongjiang Education Department; Gao Wenwu, section chief of the Social Security Department of the Provincial Finance Department;

From 9-10 July 2019, the Open University of China (OUC) organised for a team of experts to evaluate the bachelor's degree conferral rights for four majors that were opened in the spring semester of 2018: Pharmacy, Rural Regional Development, Mining Engineering, and Engineering Costing. This is the first time that the OUC has launched evaluation work for the right to grant bachelor's degrees to new majors that haven’t yielded any graduate students yet.

Guan Shufeng, a member of the Communist Party of China, is an international-business promoter. He was an English undergraduate at Guangzhou Radio and TV University from September 2005 until July 2007, and is now director of the Guangzhou General Office of the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and president of the Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Youth Federation.

Recently, a graduation ceremony for the Esquel Assistance Plan Project, part of the Open University of China (OUC) Action Plan for Realising Dreams of Further Education and the first of its kind, was held in Gaoming district, Foshan city. Lin Yu, vice president of the OUC, attended the graduation ceremony, delivered a speech, and issued diplomas to outstanding graduates.

On 16 August 2019, the evaluation results of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) were officially announced. The project Research on Vocational Education Models for Cultivating Innovative and Entrepreneurial Professionals Driven by the Tax System submitted by Wang Guopeng from the Open University of China(OUC) was approved by the NSFC and won funding.

On 10 July 2019, the OUC, together with Tianjin RTVU, Hebei RTVU, and Baoding RTVU, launched a one-week training for primary and secondary school calligraphy teachers at Xiong County RTVU. The training took Chen Zhenlian’s Studio’s Dandelion Project at the OUC Painting and Calligraphy Art Education Research Institute as its starting point.

Yan Jiamu, chair of the Shenzhen Huashi Public Welfare Foundation and director of the Shenzhen Min'ai Comprehensive Service Centre for the Disabled, is also a technician and senior special-education teacher. From 2007 until 2009, he majored in Social Work at Shenzhen RTVU, and in 2008 received his national social-worker qualification. 

Ren Jiedong, a member of the Communist Party of China, studied Chinese Language and Literature in the Pingliang division of Gansu Radio and TV University (Gansu RTVU), a branch of the Open University of China (OUC), from September 2004 to July 2006. Earlier, he had been employed by Pingliang RTVU, first as secretary of the Youth League Committee, then as director of the Administration Office.
