From 4-5 December 2018, a conference on the establishment of the Committee for Art Education Professionals of the Non-Degree Education Collaborative Association for National Open Universities (Radio and Television Universities, or RTVUs) was held in Beijing alongside the 2018 Art Teaching and Research Central Group Seminar. The Committee for Art Education Professionals is the first professional committee established by the Non-Degree Education Collaborative Association.
On 3 December 2018, the “Seminar on the Practice of the ‘One College Student per Village Programme’: Rural Vitalisation and Professional Support” was held at the Publishing & Media Group of the Open University of China (OUC).
On 4 December 2018, the Open University of China (OUC) held a meeting related to the 2018 teaching evaluations.
“I was very unhappy before I began studying at Xi’an Radio & TV University (Xi’an RTVU). At that time, I had been working for many years, and had no time to spare for studying. But after entering Xi’an RTVU, thanks to its customised setup for working students, which integrates instruction via mobile terminal, face-to-face teaching, and independent study, my attitude changed.” These words are from a speech given by Wan Ming, a student named a “Learning Star” by Xi’an RTVU. His speech received loud applause, reflecting overall approval of the new teaching system.

A display of the achievements of the “Action Plan for Realising Dreams of Further Education” is being held at the Open University of China (Guangzhou), with its first enrolment of 1,043 students having acquired undergraduate or junior-college diplomas.
In order to study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the National Education Conference, implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and the relevant requirements on the courses of ideology and politics, facilitate the construction of agriculture and medicine disciplines and the reform of their majors, and improve the quality of talent cultivation, the School of Agroforestry and Medicine of the Open University of China (OUC) held the Conference on the Teaching Work of Agriculture Majors and the Teaching Research Central Group and Conference on the Teaching Work of Medicine Majors and the Teaching Research Central Group in Haikou City on 27-28 and 29-30 November 2018, respectively. During this period, the Second Academic Meeting of the Agriculture and Medicine Sub-Committee was also convened.
From 5-9 November 2018, a press corps organised by the Open University of China (OUC) visited Sichuan for an in-depth investigation of the implementation and progress of the Long March Belt Educational Project Targeted at Alleviating Poverty project. The press corps included Xinhua News Agency, Guangming Daily, Farmers’ Daily, China Education Daily, China Education Television, China Net (china.com.cn, china.org.cn), and other media.
