On 5 November 2019, the OUC and the National Institute of Education Sciences (NIES) sign a memorandum on research cooperation. President of the NIES Cui Baoshi, Party secretary of the NIES Yin Changchun, Party secretary and president of the OUC Jing Degang, executive deputy Party secretary of the OUC Cao Guoyong, vice president Ju Chuanjin, deputy Party secretary Liu Chen, and the heads of the relevant departments of the two sides held a discussion meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ju Chuanjin.
On 25 October 2019, the OUC "Skills + Quality" pilot project held the opening ceremony for the 2019 autumn semester, along with a stage summary meeting, at the Liaocheng Learning Centre of the OUC Experimental School.
On 19 October 2019, a Seminar on Professionals in the Digital Economy was held during the 6th World Internet Conference at Wuzhen Internet International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Zhejiang Province.
From 13-17 October 2019, at the invitation of the Organising Committee of the annual conference of the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU), a delegation of five people, from the Open University of China (OUC), including Shi Yunzhi, Chen Siming, Hu Zhengwei, Guo Zhijun, and Wei Fangfang, visited Lahore, Pakistan, to attend the 33rd AAOU annual conference.
Recently, the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Open University of China (OUC) has offered assistance to several OUC departments including the Experimental School, the Learning Resources Department, and the Education Research Institute by hosting associate professor of the University of Leicester (UL), Palitha Edirisingha, professor of Korea National Open University (KNOU), Kwang Sik Chung, and associate professor of Taiwan Open University, Lin Gaoyong, for a short-term scholar exchange activity at the OUC headquarters, its branches, and the university press.
In order to implement the spirit of Several Opinions on Deepening the Reform and Innovation of Ideology and Politics Theory Courses in the New Era issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council, in which it is required that the Party secretary and president of the university should take the lead in teaching ideology and politics courses every semester.
Ding Lufeng is an excellent driver, and works on the No. 8 line of the No. 3 branch of the Tianjin Bus Company. In July 2014, he entered Tianjin Radio and Television University (Tianjin RTVU) to study for an undergraduate degree in Administration Management, and graduated in July 2016. During his studies, he worked hard, and was focused on practice. He has been awarded a National May 1st Labour Medal and Ministry of Transport Socialist Core Values Award for his contributions to the cause of public transport.

By 2020, 1.5 million migrant workers seeking academic training and meeting the admission requirements will have received such training free of charge.
