Recently, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission announced the results of the 2024 selection for various educational project initiatives, including the Beijing higher education undergraduate teaching reform and innovation projects, high-quality undergraduate courses, high-quality teaching plans, and outstanding teaching management personnel at Beijing universities. To meet the demand for applied media professionals in line with Chinese educational modernisation, align academic courses with industry needs, enhance the quality of professional development, and build a "dual-competence" teaching team empowered by AI, the Open University of China (OUC) recently hosted a seminar for the Media-Related Majors Teaching and Research Central Group.

It is clearly stated at the reports delivered at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and the National Conference on Education that “We will promote the digitalisation of education and build a society and country of learning where lifelong learning is pursued by all” and “to improve public services for lifelong learning”.

To further optimise the talent cultivation model in the Open University of China (OUC) and strengthen the development of English-related courses, from 5 to 7 November 2024, the Teaching and Research Central Groups for English-related majors and Public English (degree-conferral English programme) of the OUC held teaching and research activities in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province.
