From May 7th to 8th, 2015, the Open University of China (OUC) convened a seminar on aged education in Beijing. A total of 72 representatives, including the OUC’s President Mr.Yang Zhijian, Vice Presidents Mr. Zhang Shaogang and Mr. Liu Chen, university leaders and relevant department directors in charge of non-degree education and aged education from 41 branches attended the seminar. The seminar was hosted by Mr. Liu Chen.

On the morning of May 6th, 2015, the Opening Ceremony of the 4th China International Senior Services Expo & the 4th Forum on the Development of Chinese Senior Service Industry was held at China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing. The sponsor, China Association of Social Welfare (CASW), invited the Open University of China (OUC) to participate in the Expo, and jointly organized the "Education and Services for Older Adults Staff Building Forum".

On April 10th, 2015, 100 computers donated by the Open University of China (OUC) arrived at Mangxin Town, Yingjisha County, where the resident village officers of Xinjiang RTVU work. This donation is part of the OUC’s extension counterpart support for Xinjiang RTVU.

In order to promote the practical implementation of the national "credit bank" system; expand the available channels for the application of the standard and the application of the learning outcomes; build a cooperation platform to serve different certification institutions; promote the accreditation and transfer of learning outcomes among different certification institutions, as well as the sharing and trading of high-quality resources; and improve the social recognition of the credit bank and its ability for serving society, the OUC Credit Bank Management Office held an alliance seminar on the mutual accreditation of learning outcomes in Beijing on March 26, 2015 and April 2, 2015 respectively. Yan Xiaoping, Executive Deputy Director of the OUC Credit Bank Management Office (Learning Outcomes Accreditation Centre) presided over the ceremony.

April 23rd, 2015 was the 20th annual "World Reading Day". On that day, the Library of the Open University of China (OUC) unveiled a nationwide reading campaign for 2015, with “an overall deployment of school-running system, benefiting peripheral community residents, and organizing theme reading by the OUC” as their working method.

To jointly explore a new training model for industrial workers based on the concept of lifelong learning, build a modern education system, serve the upgrading of industry and boost the growth and development of the staff, The Open University of China (OUC) and Guangdong Federation of Trade Unions have worked together to implement “Assistance Plan for New Industrial Workers” (Assistance Plan for short). Both parties signed the Agreement on Education Cooperation in Carrying Out a “Massive Training Campaign for Tens of Thousands of Staff” at the OUC in Beijing on March 25th, 2015.

In order to share and exchange experiences in building an overpass to lifelong learning between China's mainland and Hong Kong, a round-table conference on Qualifications Framework and lifelong learning overpass construction was held in Beijing on January 9. The conference was jointly organized by the Open University of China (OUC), the Qualifications Framework Secretariat (QFS), the Centre for Research in Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning, School of Professional and Continuing Education,the University of Hong Kong (HKU SPACE). The participants of the conference exchanged their experiences in carrying out Qualifications Framework and construction of the overpass to lifelong learning.

On 25 December 2014, the Open University of China (OUC) and Beijing Automotive Industrial Company (BAIC) signed a cooperative agreement to join hands in establishing the BAIC Learning Centre of the OUC Beijing Experimental School.
