The Experimental School of the Open University of China (OUC) has conducted positive exploration, reform, and innovation, and played a leading role in comprehensively advancing the “Six-Network Integration” learner development model and Internet-based reform of the management system and operation mechanism.

It is also an important part of the construction of a lifelong education system and the formation of a learning-oriented society, and a significant responsibility shouldered by the Open University of China (OUC).
Since 2013, the Open University of China (OUC) has launched a series of special tasks, including the development of online core courses, the construction and application of the OUC Learning Network, and the creation of an online teaching team, in order to promote the reform of the “Six-Network Integration” of learner development model.
The technical infrastructure of the Open University of China (OUC) forms a “cloud-network-terminal” model based on the use of cloud computing technology to develop the OUC teaching application software system and various terminals.
Digital learning resources make it possible for learners to study anytime and anywhere. The National E-Learning Resource Centres spread across China make it easy to learn.
In 2012, the Open University of China was founded based on the existing China Central Radio & TV University. The Ministry of Education’s Approval for the Establishment of the Open University of China, founded through the China Central Radio & TV University proposed that the OUC should "further form an effective quality assurance system."
On 22nd May 2017, at the OUC Weishanzhuang conference centre, 31 elite tutors from the art major of 23 OUC branches gathered in Beijing to listen to the lecture Cutting Edge Interior Design Concept delivered by Professor Li Chaoyang from Tsinghua University Academy of Art and Design.
The Open University of China started the work of applying for approval of Bachelor’s degree-granting to Beijing Academics Degree Committee (BADC) in 2013.
