The opening ceremony of a series of activities marking the third anniversary of the establishment of the Open University of China (OUC) was held on June 30, 2015.

In order to know the status of the organization of teaching at branches participating in the new learning website and the online courses pilot programme of the Open University of China (OUC), to discuss issues related to mobile phone trial programme, and to exchange views on and discuss measures to promote online teaching, from June 8th to 12th, 2015, the OUC Learner Support Centre visited the OUC Chengdu Branch to carry out a special investigation.

Mr. Yang Zhijian,President of the Open University of China (OUC), attended the Executive Committee Meeting of International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) held in Paris, France on June 8, 2015. It is the second meeting after the ICDE Executive Committee took a conference call in April 2015.

The Global High Level Policy Forum: Online, Open and Flexible Higher Education for the Future We Want organized by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in partnership with ICDE (International Council for Open and Distance Education) was held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from 9-11 June 2015. Over 200 participants from 57 countries around the world participated in the forum. Mr. Yang Zhijian, President of the Open University of China (OUC) shared the university’s practice in promoting education equity based on information technology in the forum.

From May 26-28, 2015, the second Liwa Book Fair was held at the Training Base for International Chinese Teachers at the East China Normal University in Shanghai.The OUC Chinese Language Centre (MyEChinese) was invited to exhibit its independently researched and developed materials, teaching resources and distance teaching services to teachers and students in the field of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. In this exhibition, the intelligent teaching cloud space for individual teachers, launched for the first time by MyEChinese Intelligent Teaching Platform, drew visitors interest.

"Mass entrepreneurship and innovation" has become one of the most frequently used buzzwords over the past few months. On March 8, 2015, in a government work report Premier Li Keqiang emphasized the creation of dual engines of mass entrepreneurship and innovation, and increasing public goods and public services.

The International Conference on ICT and Post-2015 Education jointly sponsored by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Ministry of Education of P.R.C. was held in Qingdao from May 23rd to 25th, 2015. More than 300 representatives from international organizations and famous enterprises from over 90 countries and more than 200 representatives from China attended the conference.
