On 15 July 2021, the School of Sociology of the Faculty of Political Science and Law of the Open University of China (OUC) held an online meeting to promote the “Collaborative Growth” project for social work teachers in the OUC system, marking the first of such meetings.

On the morning of 18 July 2021, Shandong Open University (Shandong OU) held a graduation ceremony at the university’s high-tech campus for grassroots cadres in degree programmes. 4,398 rural and urban cadres obtained certificates for having completed their studies.

From 13-15 July 2021, the Department of Student Affairs and Teacher Development of the Open University of China (OUC), together with the Faculty of Science and Engineering, sent 30 OUC teachers of computer, mechanical, and electrical engineering to tour Anhui Xinhua Education Group, aiming to implement the requirements of the OUC Comprehensive Reform Plan on the construction of teaching teams, speed up development of teachers with "double qualifications", and promote integration with enterprises, by studying the operations and management of the Group.

On 14 July 2021, Jing Degang, secretary of the Party Committee and president of the Open University of China (OUC), unveiled a plaque marking the Centre for Ideological and Political Education at Yanan Open University.

The Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Open University of China (OUC), in teaching the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC), has attached equal importance to the development of degree and non-degree education and to providing social services, leading faculty to explore the development of the university.

Under the guidance of leaders at all levels of the Open University of China (OUC), and through the joint efforts of all OUC branches, departments, and other units, the final examinations for the 2021 spring semester were implemented in a smooth and orderly manner. They included a national unified examination and 10 and 11 July, and online examinations from 14 May to 11 July.
