On December 31, 2015, newly elected ATSE (Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering) Foreign Fellow Dr. Liu Ke, in his capacity as its part-time professor, visited Shaanxi RTVU to present an academic report to the university's academic committee members.

Wang Qunxiang is a junior college graduate of the 2014 Chinese language class at QingFeng Radio and TV University. Though one year has already passed since he left school, his story is always fresh in my mind. He entered the RTVU at 71 and graduated at 74. Of the approximately 5,000 graduates in the 33 year history of the university, he is the oldest, and the one with the most stories. Those who know Wang Qunxiang say that he is more like a teacher than a student.

On January 7, 2015, Liupanshui Radio and Television University (Liupanshui RTVU) presented a morality lecture based on the topics of "filial piety, honesty, and trustworthiness".

The National Natural Science Fund (NNSF) recently formally approved Shaanxi RTVU as an “NNSF Supporting Institution” (Guokejinfaji〔2015〕No. 93, registered code: 71006815A0253).This means that faculty of Shaanxi RTVU will be able to independently apply for NNSF research subjects as members of an NNSF supporting institution and participate in scientific research activities at the national level.

A press conference on the “Top 10 News Stories in 2015 Distance Education for Non-commissioned Officers” was recently held at the Open University of China’s (OUC) Bayi School. The Director of the National Non-commissioned Officer Distance Education and Training Coordination Group Office and Dean of Bayi School, Zhang Yichen, as well as heads of Bayi School and every faculty member attended the conference.

Selection results for the “Searching for ‘Dream Chasers’Activity Series– Excellent Disabled Students Across the OUC School System,” sponsored by China.org.cn, were recently formally unveiled. Thirty-seven individuals were recognized, including Olympic Champion Yang Bozun.

As a new provider of lifelong learning education for all citizens, Nantong Radio and TV University (Nantong RTVU) has recently shared educational resources with all citizens to develop three community education programmes: cultural heritage, volunteer service, as well as physical and mental activities. A series of bold, innovative concepts and practical initiatives put Nantong community education at the forefront of development.
