From 27 to 28 December 2018, Guangzhou Radio and TV University (Guangzhou RTVU) held a 2018 Open Education Enrolment Meeting with the theme of "Grasping Quality, Realising True Development, Emphasising Connotation, and Promoting Openness.”

Recently, a book written by Shi Jinwen, Jiang Zhouling, and other writers from Guangxi Radio and TV University (Guangxi RTVU), Research on Poverty Alleviation through Education Using the Open University as an Example, was published by Thread-Binding Books Publishing House.

On 1 January, 2019, for the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Open University of the UK (OU,UK), its Institute of Educational Technology, in conjunction with the Norwegian Centre for the Science of Learning and Technology, published "Innovating Pedagogy 2019", the seventh report of its kind (https://iet.open.ac.uk/file/innovating-agogy-2019.pdf). 10 teaching innovations were described in the report, including learning by play, learning with robots, decolonised learning, drone-based learning, learning through wonder, action learning, virtual studios, place-based learning, making thinking visible, and roots of empathy.

On 27 December 2018, Changchun Radio & TV University (Changchun RTVU) held a teaching-achievement exhibition for its School for Older Adults. Students, faculty and RTVU leadership gathered to witness the achievements of the year.

According to the Notice on the Decision of the Ministry of Education on Approving the 2018 Award-Winning Projects of the National Teaching Achievement Awards (Jiao Shi [2018] No. 21) recently issued by the Ministry of Education (MOE), the project “The Systematic Construction of a National Credit Bank System for Vocational Education” led by vice president Li Linshu of the Open University of China (OUC) won first prize at the National Teaching Achievement Awards for Vocational Education, a historical breakthrough for the OUC.
