Recently, a comprehensive assessment conducted by the Zhejiang Home-Hotel Evaluation Committee has named a group of 99 homeowner-run hotels, known as home hotels, as the first “silver class” home hotels in the province.
From the 13th to 14th of June, 2018, in order to promote curriculum construction, academic development and the school traditions of the Faculty of Agroforestry and Medicine at the OUC, the second session of the Agroforestry and Medicine Sub-Committee of the OUC Academic Committee was convened in Guiyang, Guizhou Province.

In order to strengthen the Law sub-committee and promote the development of the OUC Law programme, on the 5th and 6th of June, 2018, the second session of the Law sub-committee of the OUC academic committee convened in Beijing. Yang Xiaotang, deputy secretary of the OUC, Liu Jingduo, director of the School of Arts and Law, and Gu Xiaohua, deputy director of the Faculty of Arts and Law, along with law instructors participated in the conference. It was chaired by Yao Laiyan, director of the session.
The Second OUC Working Conference of the Administrative Management Major Central Teaching Research Group was held in Wuhan from 25-26th April 2018. OUC vice president Liu Chen, president of Wuhan Branch, Ma Feng, and vice president of Wuhan Branch, Wang Luqun, attended the conference. The conference was chaired by Gu Xiaohua, leader of the Administrative Management Major Central Teaching Research Group. The conference focused on the construction of key majors for Administrative Management and the work of the Central Teaching Research Group.
At the invitation of Germany, a delegation of five people headed by vice president of the Open University of China (OUC) Liu Chen and the Beijing International Institute of Asia-Europe Education and Culture (AEEC Institute Beijing) visited Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU) and University of Freiburg from 4-8th June 2018 to discuss matters of cooperation. They signed an agreement on a Sino-German Master’s Degree Programme with OVGU.
Recently, in order to further promote the implementation of credit bank policy, explore a school operation mechanism for the Online Credit Bank, and ensure the smooth completion of work for the Online Credit Bank within the school, the OUC set up an in-house operation working group for the Online Credit Bank and held a working conference on its in-house operation mechanism. The vice presidents of the OUC, Li Linshu and Liu Chen, as well as members of the in-house operation working group of the Online Credit Bank, attended the conference.
To strengthen the academic-degree-management teams and enhance undergraduate services, the Open University of China (OUC) held an advanced seminar for academic-degree-management staff and core teachers from 28 May to 1 June, 2018. A total of 90 academic-affairs personnel, teachers, and management staff from 41 OUC branches, the OUC Experimental School, the School of Tibet, the Bayi School, and the School for the Disabled attended the seminar.
