On the morning of September 11, 2019, a five-person delegation, including Liu Hua, president of Education and Vocation magazine, and Hu Wei, deputy director of the Minority Education Development Centre, Ministry of Education (MOE), came to visit the Open University of China (OUC). Jing Degang, secretary of the Party Committee and President of the OUC; Feng Liguo, director of the General Office of Party and Administration;

Ms. Cheng Shouyan, a member of the Li ethnic group and of the Communist Party of China, graduated from the School of Government of Sun Yat-Sen University as a Doctor of Philosophy in political science. She has taught at Guizhou Radio and Television University (RTVU) since July 2006, and is now deputy dean of, and a professor in, the Department of Distance Education.

Ms. Xu Xiangdan is dedicated to and passionate about her work, and completes it to the highest standards. She also strives constantly to become a better teacher. In 1999, she became responsible for the construction and teaching of courses such as Corporate Finance, Financial Regulations, Enterprise Financial Behaviour, Investments, Securities Investment Analysis, Personal Banking, and Foundations of Financial Marketing.

As a chief teacher at the headquarters of the Open University of China (OUC), Zhu Xiaoge teaches mathematics in the Primary Education major, and is responsible for math-curriculum construction, teaching, practice, and subject research in the major. She loves her work and has done well in it.

Vocational education is indispensable for strengthening the economy, promoting high-quality development, and creating high quality of life. General Secretary Xi Jinping has pointed out that the development of vocational education has a promising future. Vocational education has responsibility for disseminating technical skills and cultivating talents, and these days is especially useful for helping develop China’s western regions.

Xu Hongjian was born in Chaqi Village, Futian Township, Wuning County, Jiangxi Province. He is a member of the Communist Party of China, and currently works as chief and legal representative of the Pingyao Zhenghong Eco-farm in Wuning County.

On 23 August, 2019, a ceremony awarding bachelor's degrees to non-commissioned officers in the distance-education programme was held at the Bayi School of the Open University of China in conjunction with the Air Force College in Beijing. Eighteen representative graduates of the armed forces attended.

Shen Guochu, a member of the Communist Party of China, is currently serving in the second brigade of the Changde Traffic Police Detachment of the Public Security Bureau of Hunan Province. He is a graduate of the Changde RTVU Law School, which he entered in 2000.
