“I can hardly imagine life without the University for Older Adults,” said Liu Shuqin, a 62-year-old student of the university, part of the Open University of China (OUC). She signed up for a calligraphy class recently, after having finished a painting class. “I plan to get enough credits to obtain a diploma. You're never too old to learn!”

On 26 January 2022, a meeting summing up the teaching ability competition of the 2021 National Vocational Student Skills Competition was held in Beijing. The Open University of China (OUC) won an outstanding contribution award for its technical support for the competition, which received high praise from the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education. Li Song, vice president of the OUC, was invited to attend the meeting.

On 20 January 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) held the sixth meeting of the third session of its Academic Degree Evaluation Committee via video conference. The meeting discussed issues related to degree granting for the 2021 autumn semester and decided to award 2006 graduates OUC bachelor’s degrees, including Qin Haitao.

On 15 January 2022, the government of the Shijingshan district held an oath-taking for district volunteers serving the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Sun Jiangtao, a representative of the volunteers from the Open University of China (OUC), was among those attending.

On 29 December 2021, the OUC 14th Five-Year Plan for  Development was officially issued and implemented.

Recently, the National Press and Publication Administration announced the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Publishing Industry, which focuses on the long-term goal of building a strong publishing country by 2035 and comprehensively describes the development blueprint and work direction of the publishing industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

On 6 January 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) and China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) signed a framework strategic-cooperation agreement.

On 26 October 2021, the Open University of China (OUC) and Beijing National Accounting Institute (BNAI) held a ceremony to sign a strategic-cooperation agreement in areas such as graduate education, non-degree training, teacher development, development and sharing of teaching resources, and research.
