The 2023 second half plenary meeting of the China E-Learning Technology Standardization Committee (CELTSC), hosted by the CELTSC, was held in Sanya City, Hainan Province.

The meeting included an open forum focused on discussions about technology standardization in educational informatization, along with a session dedicated to all expert members.

During the meeting, it was announced that the Open University of China (OUC) had achieved notable success with its submission to the 2023 list of exemplary cases for standard application. Their case, titled "Building a System Practice for Digital Lifelong Education Interconnectivity," impressively secured the second position. Among the 166 units that submitted their entries for consideration, a total of 91 were recognised as valid cases for review. Following a thorough assessment by experts, 34 outstanding cases from across China were ultimately selected for inclusion in this year's list of exemplary cases.

The goal of this case collection is to acknowledge and celebrate outstanding achievements in the application of standards within the realm of educational informatisation. It spotlights "exemplary cases for standard application" that have made significant contributions to the field. The case submitted by the OUC is particularly noteworthy. It illustrates how the OUC's Lifelong Education Platform has achieved interconnectivity with both national and provincial platforms. This accomplishment was made possible through a standardized approach, grounded in the platform's development practices. The OUC's case serves as an exemplary model for constructing cross-platform standardized aggregation and achieving seamless interconnectivity in data resource systems.

Moving forward, the OUC's Lifelong Education Platform will continue to efficiently gather high-quality educational resources, enhance and optimise its features, and further facilitate access to the Smart Education of China platform. These efforts are aimed at accelerating the development of standardization, digitalization, intelligence, and integrated advancement, providing crucial support for the construction of an inclusive education system that serves lifelong learning for all.
