Recently, the Open University of China (OUC) held a video conference on the final examinations for the autumn semester of 2020. Faculty, and staff of the Academic Affairs Department of the OUC headquarters, attended the meeting in-person, while 4,842 people, including those in charge of the examination, and examiners and staff providing it at OUC branches, schools and examination centres, attended by video link. The meeting was presided over by Zheng Jie,deputy director of the Academic Affairs Department.

In order to implement relevant policies on measures to improve the rural settlement environment, the Open University of China(OUC) made full use of its experience and achievements in popularising Mandarin and shaking off poverty and gave full play to the advantages of its digital learning resources and organisation system covering urban and rural areas.

On 25 December 2020, the Open University of China (OUC) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Development and Reform Commission, Education Commission, and Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Daxing district, Beijing, and Beijing Zhonghang Future Technology Group, at the OUC convention centre.

It was reported at the promotion meeting for the transformation and development of the Hebei Open University (Hebei OU) held on 19 December 2020 that Hebei Provincial People’s Government has approved the renaming of Hebei Radio and TV University (Hebei RTVU) to Hebei OU. Relevant RTVUs at municipal and county levels in Hebei Province were also renamed as open universities.
