Since 2004, Zhe Liancheng has worked as a teacher in Huaxi Middle School, Liangqu Primary School, Tongzhuang Primary School and Jingyuan No. 2 Middle School in Zhenbeibao Town, Xixia District, Yinchuan City. He gave up a well-paid, comfortable job and learned to adapt to teaching in a difficult environment without adequate textbooks and supplies. In order to leave no student behind, to make sure not one student drops out of school, he stays year after year in his teaching position in western China. He stays so that more children can leave. 

Recently, the first Micro-course Teaching Competition held by Fujian RTVU came to an end. Seventeen RTVU teachers from across Fujian province demonstrated their skills in the final competition and were awarded first, second and third prizes.

On September 22, 2012, the OUC and Yunnan RTVU signed a cooperative framework agreement in Beijing to jointly develop international distance Chinese education and Chinese culture education for Yunnan province as well as neighboring countries. The educational programmes will be based on the “MyEChinese” international distance Chinese education platform developed by the OUC's own Chinese Language Center and will revolve around the Yunnan area. The two parties will work together to construct overseas teaching centres, provide degree and non-degree international distance Chinese education, and promote the localization,

The 4th Beijing Traditional Music Festival and 7th Beijing Park Festival Arena Contest opened in the Temple of Heaven on October 3, 2012. On this occasion, the OUC co-sponsored the “2012 China Community Music Education Summit” together with China Conservatory and Community Education College of Chaoyang District.

“Everybody look this way, okay, click! The camera shutter was pressed.” On May 5, the first "Sunshine Class" of 52 students graduated in front of the gate of Guangxi RTVU. When I approached this special group of students, I could appreciate how different their college lives were from the rest — how difficult and yet how brimming with optimism and confidence.
