In Xinchang county, Zhejiang province, they have a saying: You might not know the county leaders, but you must know Lv Weixing. Lv Weixing is an ordinary policeman from the Traffic Police Urban Duty Squadron of Xinchang County Public Security Bureau. However he has two unusual nicknames:“Black Lord Bao” and “Street Angel”（with the connotation of lord of justice and protector of the streets).

The Global High Level Policy Forum: Online, Open and Flexible Higher Education for the Future We Want organized by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in partnership with ICDE (International Council for Open and Distance Education) was held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from 9-11 June 2015. Over 200 participants from 57 countries around the world participated in the forum. Mr. Yang Zhijian, President of the Open University of China (OUC) shared the university’s practice in promoting education equity based on information technology in the forum.
2015 marks the 30th anniversary of the graduation of the first batch of Liberal Arts students from the Radio and Television University (RTVU). Among the first Liberal Arts graduates, in 30 years, one student has established a conglomerate with the assets amounting to billions of renminbi and has been paying back into society with his substantial assets. Ancient Chinese society was dominated by a patriarchal clan system, in which the blood relationship was regarded as the most important social connection. Therefore the sense of a clan is deeply rooted in the minds of ancient Chinese people, and was actually a tightly united group. However nowadays this concept has quite faded away. In this lecture we will get to know some ideas about how a Chinese clan is defined and the scope it covers.
