The Open University of China (OUC), also known as the Seniors University of China (SUC), celebrated the 29th World Book Day on 23rd April with a thematic event, deeply aligning with the importance of enhancing national reading campaigns as mandated by the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

To support the significant mandate set forth during the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) to promote reading, and to aid in creating a society and country of learning where lifelong learning is pursued by all, the Open University of China (OUC), also known as the Seniors University of China (SUC), announced 10 major reading initiatives for 2024 in celebration of the 29th World Book Day.

On 19 April 2024, which marked the traditional Chinese solar term Guyu ("Rain of Millet"), the Open University of China (OUC) and Beijing Founder Electronics Co., Ltd. (Founder Type) celebrated the 15th United Nations (UN) Chinese Language Day.

On 11 April 2024, a delegation led by Li Song, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of OUC, visited the Anhui Seniors Open University for research purposes.

On 10th April 2024, the Open University of China (OUC) hosted a seminar on academic degree work exchange and research in Anhui.

On 8 April 2024, Vice President Zhou Tianming of the Open University of China (OUC), also known as the Seniors University of China (SUC), led a delegation to Hainan Open University (OU) to explore advancements in elderly education and to inaugurate the Hainan Branch of the SUC.

On 9 April 2024, Liu Xuanxuan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Open University of China (OUC, also known as Seniors University of China, SUC), led a delegation to Gansu Open University to investigate elderly education efforts and unveil the plaque for the Gansu Branch of SUC.

To deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important directives on further advancing the "Learning from Lei Feng" initiative, and to vigorously promote the traditional Chinese virtues of respecting the elderly, the Youth League Committee at the Open University of China (OUC, also known as Seniors University of China, SUC) organised the "Volunteer Youth" intelligent community elderly care volunteer service on 19 March 2024.
