The Open University of China (OUC) has held an offline training session on standard spoken and written Chinese as part of efforts to implement the guiding principles of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), as it calls for “strengthening the promotion of standard spoken and written Chinese”.
On 6th April2023, the Open University of China (Seniors University of China -SUC) held a cooperation negotiation meeting with China National Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (Sinopharm). Jing Degang, the secretary of Open University of China 's Party Committee and president, held talks with Zhou Song, the secretary of Sinopharm International's Party Committee and general manager, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties.
On 30th March 2023, the Open University of China (OUC) hosted the second lecture of the "Enhancing Teachers' Digital Competence" training series. On 29 March 2023, the 2023 (2nd) Lifelong Learning Conference, sponsored by Chinese Journal of Distance Education Journal, was opened in Zhengzhou, Henan.
On 29 March 2023, Long Lihong, the deputy minister of the Organisation Department of the Guizhou Provincial Committee, the director of the Guizhou Senior Cadres Bureau, and the Party secretary and president of Guizhou Senior Citizens University, led a delegation to visit the Open University of China (Seniors University of China) for research and learning.
On 25 February 2023, the Open University of China (OUC) held a final examination for spring term at a testing site in Xiangyang, Hubei Province, when a student waiting to enter the room suddenly collapsed and fell into a coma. Thanks to the swift response of teachers and students, the life of the student was saved.
To thoroughly implement the work requirements for running elderly universities proposed by Comrade Huai Jinpeng, minister of the Ministry of Education, at the establishment of the Seniors University of China (SUC), and to further improve the construction of the national elderly university system, enrolment trials, and the implementation of the " Health Care and Preservation, Learning and Travel " project, the SUC organised a System Construction Seminar and " Health Care and Preservation, Learning and Travel " Project Acceptance Meeting in Chengdu on 24-25 March 2023.
