To enhance the teaching support capabilities and service levels of the Learning Network, and to help teachers better utilise it for educational activities, the Academic Affairs Department and Department of Digitalisation of the Open University of China (OUC) recently organised a training and exchange activity for all course leaders.
Fan Xianrui, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of the OUC, attended the event and delivered a speech. Nearly 200 teachers from various departments at the headquarters participated in the training and discussions on-site, while approximately 170 professional host teachers joined the training online. The event was hosted by Shen Juan, deputy director of the Academic Affairs Department.

Fan Xianrui emphasised that the construction and application of the Learning Network is an ongoing process of iterative upgrades and innovative exploration. This training and exchange activity is a crucial step in advancing the digital transformation of education, deepening teaching reforms, and improving teaching quality. Faculty members at the Open University are expected to be "dual-capability" educators, possessing both professional skills and advanced digital skills. As the digital transformation of education progresses, all teachers should elevate their perspectives, unify their thoughts, and build consensus. Together, they should work to deeply integrate the digitalisation of education with the needs of teachers and their professional activities, thereby building a digital university and writing a new chapter in the strategic development of digital education. This effort will contribute to the construction of a learning-oriented society and nation.
Lu Yan from the OUC Online Education & Information Technology Co., Ltd (OUC Online)explained the functionalities and considerations of the Learning Network in course development, course delivery, teaching research, teaching analysis, and application exploration. Yang Jing from the Department of Digitalisation introduced the optimisation plans for the Learning Network in terms of functionality, performance, and user experience. The training also included a "Q&A with Prizes" session and an interactive session, where teachers actively participated and provided constructive feedback and suggestions for the optimisation of the Learning Network based on their practical needs.
