Yang Bozun, a native of Tianjin, has been fond of both music and sports since childhood. He began to play guitar and piano at age three, and started swimming in primary school, winning several swim competitions in Tianjin while doing well at school. However, an eye disease caused him to drop out of school in grade 8, and by September 2005 he was blind.

Chen Songju is a staff member of Dagong (Shanghai) Computer Company. She majored in Business Management at Shanghai Open University (Shanghai OU) from 2010 until 2013, and was elected deputy to the 16th National Congress of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions as well as the 14th and 15th Shanghai Municipal People's Congresses. She has also been named a“National Excellent Migrant Worker”.

Zhao Ping works as a rivet fitter for Shaanxi Aircraft Industry Group, an affiliate of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AICC). He was a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress, and is a national model worker, an aviation expert, and a level-three technical expert at the Hanzhong Aircraft Branch of the AICC.

Zhao Shuhai, a former senior engineer with State Grid, is a master of innovation in Yuncheng, Shanxi province. From 1982 to 1985 he majored in Computer Engineering at Shanxi Radio and TV University (Shanxi RTVU), and two of his inventions – one for a device to encourage tree growth, the other for a cleaner of ceramic power-line insulators – have received major domestic and international awards. He has applied for eighty-six patents, including seventy-three Chinese and thirteen international.

Wang Juming majored in Chinese Language and Literature in Shandong Radio and TV University (Shandong RTVU) from 1982 to 1985 and is a master of arts and crafts.

Wang Yan, a driver with the Qingdao Bus Group, is a model worker. In 2012, she was recommended by the Qingdao Federation of Trade Unions to be a junior-college Administrative Management major at Qingdao Radio and TV University (Qingdao RTVU), and obtained a diploma. Currently she is an Administrative Management undergraduate there (class of 2016). In 2018, she won an OUC scholarship.

Huang Cheng, a student of Administrative Management at Yinzhou College, Ningbo Radio and TV University (RTVU), graduated in 2010 and obtained a final graduation certificate from Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Zhang Jiang was a junior-college graduate of the Law major of Inner Mongolia Radio and TV University (Inner Mongolia RTVU) in 2006. In 2008, he received his Bachelor of Law from this university. He is now chairman of Inner Mongolia Zhongcai Mining, Inner Mongolia Deshengjiye Real Estate, the Mongolia International Hotel, Mongolia Ligong Prairie Cultural Tourism, and the Xilin Gol League Chamber of Commerce, as well as a member of the Xilinhot 15th NPC.

On 16 May, 2019, the 6th National Conference for Role Models with Disabilities was held in Beijing. OUC alumnus Dong Ming won the highest award for those furthering the cause of the disabled nationwide, and received a cordial reception from General Secretary Xi Jinping. Hearing that Dong Ming had volunteered at the 7th Military World Games, Xi Jinping told her: "You are awesome!"

Xu Yufan, a senior teacher, is currently principal of Tian 'an Primary School in Xiamen, Fujian province. In the autumn of 2002, she started studies in the undergraduate Chinese Language and Literature programme at Xiamen Radio and TV University (Xiamen RTVU), and graduated with honours in July 2007. Xu Yufan was named “OUC Outstanding Graduate” in 2007, and her accomplishments were broadcast on the CCTV education channel.

Hu Renping is a member of the Communist Party of China. In September 2005, he entered the undergraduate Law programme at the Xinyu Branch of China Central Radio and TV University (now is known as the Open University of China, or OUC) in Jiangxi Province, and graduated in July 2007.
