The results of “Liaoning’s 2013 Person of the Year in Education”, sponsored by multiple entities including the Department of Education of Liaoning, Liaoning TV Station, and Liaoning Daily were unveiled recently, with Ji Changhong, the director of the General Affairs Infrastructure Construction Division of Liaoning RTVU making the list.
On March 26th, eight staff members from the Open University of China (OUC) were invited by the Party Committee of Departments directly under the Ministry of Education (MOE) to assist in the exchange and knowledge-sharing activity about information technology application known as “Information Technology Makes Work and Life More Convenient”, which was organized for the cadres within certain departments of the MOE.
On March 25th, 2014, the annual academic meeting of Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy (CSEDS) was held in Beijing. Its purpose was the study and implementation of the ideals of the Third Plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, as well as to serve as an academic review of 2013's major research advancements.
On March 25th, the Ministry of Education (MOE) held its 2014 vocational education and continuing education conference in Beijing. With the theme of speeding up the construction of the employment-oriented modern vocational education system, the conference promoted the objective that vocational and adult education should advocate and implement the spirit of the 18th CPC National Congress and the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, should implement the goals put forwarded by the government work report and the executive meeting of the State Council, and deepen the reform and innovation of vocational education and continuing education.

2014's Main Points for Education Digitization Released The OUC Committed to Three Important Projects
Recently the Ministry of Education (MOE) website released “2014's Main Points for Education Digitization” (shortened as “the Main Points”). In the release, the working ideas, working approach, core target, and key points of the education digitization work in 2014 were clearly put forward. The OUC, which is directly under the MOE, will undertake three important projects outlined in the directive.
In a recent press release for the Henan Education Digitization Experts Committee and its Specialist Members Database issued by the Education Department of Henan Province, Professor Li Xiaoming, Assistant to the president of Henan RTVU and Director of the Centre for Modern Educational Technology was named as a member of the Henan Education Digitization Experts Committee.
The training class “New Technology Application in Education” officially began on March 1. It was presented by the Research and Development Centre for the Integration and Application of Digital Learning Technologies (RDCIADLT), Ministry of Education, China, based in the Open University of China (OUC) in cooperation with Latina Lab of Oslo University College of Norway.
