In order to encourage the cultural development of the Open University of China(OUC) and promote Red Culture, the OUC Research and Development Centre for Digital Learning organized and held a symposium on “Educational Culture Highway Xibaipo - Beijing” at Xibaipo on March 24th, 2015.
To jointly explore a new training model for industrial workers based on the concept of lifelong learning, build a modern education system, serve the upgrading of industry and boost the growth and development of the staff, The Open University of China (OUC) and Guangdong Federation of Trade Unions have worked together to implement “Assistance Plan for New Industrial Workers” (Assistance Plan for short). Both parties signed the Agreement on Education Cooperation in Carrying Out a “Massive Training Campaign for Tens of Thousands of Staff” at the OUC in Beijing on March 25th, 2015.
Everyone has a dream in his or her youth. However, in some cases these dreams are never realized and thus finding a way to realize these dreams has become a lifelong pursuit for many. Stepping into the teaching building of the Radio and Television University (RTVU) in Qiqihar, the first thing you’ll see and hear is beautiful singing and advanced dance postures coming from the dance class. Through classes such as dance, music, electronic organ, calligraphy, Chinese painting, and many more, Qiqihar RTVU helps senior trainees to enrich their senior years and finally realize their former dreams.
On March 26, 2015, about 35 postgraduates majoring in medicine and law from Soegijapranata Catholic University, Indonesia visited The Open University of China (OUC). As part of their visit they engaged in a series of profound discussions and dialogues on the topics covering the development of Chinese medicine, laws relating to Chinese medicine, distance education in China, etc. Professors from the School of Arts & Law, Chinese Language Centre of the OUC, and Liao Fulong, a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Chinese Materia Medica China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, participated in the forum.
On March 7, 2015, the China Distance Education Academic Forum (hereinafter referred to as the Forum) met to discuss the theme: "Distance Education: Responsibilities of Academic Journals" in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. The Forum was jointly hosted by Distance Education in China and Shenyang Radio and TV University (RTVU).
On March 4th,2015, the National Publication Foundation unveiled the list of projects chosen to receive funding in 2015, and the project “Lectures on Science Popularization by 100 Academicians and Experts” from Multimedia Press, The Open University of China (OUC), was among those chosen. The National Publication Foundation is the third largest fund set up by the state, following the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Sciences Fund. It mainly subsidizes the publishing of books and a few electronic audio-visual products with cultural inheritance and preservation value.
The iPad version of “Your Hand Drawing” application software (hereinafter referred to as “Your Hand Drawing App”) developed by the Open University of China (OUC) was formally launched recently at Apple’s app store. From January 2015 on, students of the OUC and the general public will be able to download this professional graphics software for free via their personal app store account and use it to practice painting and drawing.
The “OUC Open Forum” video courses and the series "Science and China: Lectures by Academicians and Experts” produced by the Open University of China (OUC) were aired on China Education Television Channel 1 (CETV-1) from March 7, 2015 and on CETV Air Classroom Channel from March 9, 2015, respectively.
