On November 4, 2014, online training for large pillar enterprises of Guangdong Province (dqy.gdlll.cn) went online at the Open University of Guangdong.

Special training for large pillar enterprises of Guangdong Province is a platform affiliated with the Guangdong lifelong learning network (www.gdlll.cn). Currently, there are 54 hours of subject courses available online for the first phase, including business management, intellectual property, technical standards, and more.

On November 4, students of Chongqing's first community school - Street Community School at Yuzhou Road - showed off their paper-cutting works at the national opening ceremony for the 2014 Lifelong Learning Activity Week in the Yuzhong District of Chongqing. At the ceremony, the vivid images of celebrities, magpies, galloping horses, and other works showed the learning outcomes that the students gained in the community schools.

Henan Radio and TV University (Henan RTVU) continues to promote its pilot teaching model of "integrating teaching, learning and testing into one platform”. Currently, 9 provincial open courses have been included in the pilot project, and this semester 40 additional provincial open courses in 12 subjects have been added to the pilot programme.

On November 11th of 2013, a program called “OUC Open Forum” debuted on CETV1. The “Science and China — Academicians and Experts Lecture” Series was included in the show. The lecture series were jointly planned and launched by the OUC and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The broadcast time happened to coincide with the first anniversary of the signing of the cooperation agreement. The occasion  marked the win-win cooperation through which both sides’ advantages have been fully exerted fully and both have made substantial progress under their mutual efforts.

The Seventh “Forum for Teachers in Chinese Distance Education” was held in Wuhan, Hubei on November 28, 2013. It was jointly sponsored by Hubei Radio and Television University (RTVU), the publishers of Distance Education in China and the Teacher Development Center of the Open University of China, under the theme “The real magicians: innovative applications of information technology in open university teaching practice”.

On November 26th, 2013, the Open University of China (OUC) held a seminar to mark the opening of several industry pilot schools in Beijing (Industry Schools). Schools focused on ten different industries were formally established: coal, social work, logistics, textiles, mechanical industries, automobile repair, casting, information security, circular economy, and software.

The Ninth Staff Sports Meeting of the Ministry of Education (MOE), a biennial sports event, was held on April 29 in the Beijing Olympic Sports Centre. The OUC continued to achieve good results, including placing third in total team score, as well as taking home the Best Organization award and the Advanced Propaganda Work award.

On April 24, the OUC Children Media (Beijing) Cultural Communication Co., Ltd., funded by the Open University of China (OUC) Press Co., Ltd., inaugural ceremony was held in the Wukesong Publishing Building.
