The Ninth Staff Sports Meeting of the Ministry of Education (MOE), a biennial sports event, was held on April 29 in the Beijing Olympic Sports Centre. The OUC continued to achieve good results, including placing third in total team score, as well as taking home the Best Organization award and the Advanced Propaganda Work award.

On April 24, the OUC Children Media (Beijing) Cultural Communication Co., Ltd., funded by the Open University of China (OUC) Press Co., Ltd., inaugural ceremony was held in the Wukesong Publishing Building. 

On April 25th, the first working meeting of the Quality Assurance Committee of the Open University of China (OUC) was held through the president desktop system. The President of the OUC and the Director of the Quality Assurance Committee, Yang Zhijian, attended the meeting and addressed the participants. Members of the committee from the 44 branches and the university’s leaders attended the meeting.

Recently, after evaluation and public comments of the China Central Radio and TV University (CCRTVU, now the OUC) Committee of Evaluation of Excellent Graduates, 429 students were selected to receive the award “Excellent Graduates of CCRTVU - Class of 2013”.

On April 11, Fang Qing, deputy to the 11th and 12th National People’s Congresses (NPC) and famous alumna of Jinhua RTVU, and the President of the Experimental Primary School of Jindong District of Jinhua City, were invited for a return visit to her alma mater Jinhua RTVU to recount her “love practice” as an educator to the assembled teachers.

On April 16, the opening ceremony for the first batch of students admitted to the School for the Disabled of Hebei Radio and TV University (Hebei RTVU) was held in Hebei Provincial Disabled Persons’ Federation (Hebei PDPF), which marked a fresh start for secondary vocational education for the disabled in the province.

On April 17, the 2014 TCSOL (short for “Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages”) Training of the Open University of China (the OUC) was officially launched in Wukesong distance teaching building. The first session of this training lasted six days, and was attended by almost 30 backbone teachers and teaching administrative staff from the Radio and TV Universities (RTVUs) of Heilongjiang, Jilin, Yunnan, Zhejiang, Chengdu, Gansu and other provinces, as well as other universities and colleges, many of whom had attended the 2013 OUC TCSOL Training.

In April 18, 2014, the discussion meeting of the Open University of China’s (OUC) “new industrial workers’ development and training assistance project” scheme was held in Xi’an. 50 people attended the meeting, including university leaders, directors of relevant departments, experts and professors from the OUC and several local Radio and TV Universities (RTVUs).
