On 26th July 2018, a bachelor's degree awarding ceremony for the first group of graduates was held at Bayi School of the Open University of China (OUC). Thirteen undergraduate representatives from different places and different arms of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) gathered in Beijing to attend the degree awarding ceremony. Dressed in their graduation gowns, the graduates went to the podium and accepted the Tassel Turning Ceremony from Mr. Liu Chen, vice president of the OUC.
On 16th July 2018, Tianjin Radio and Television University (Tianjin RTVU) celebrated its 60th anniversary at the auditorium at Haihe Educational Park Campus. Yang Zhijian, president of the Open University of China (OUC), attended the anniversary and gave a speech. Nearly 300 personnel including former leaders, retired cadres, leaders of the units of the RTVU system, members of the university leadership, alumni representatives, and staff and faculty representatives attended the celebration.
For the purpose of the standardised operation of non-degree education, the Open University of China (OUC) Department of External Education and Professional Training issued the “Interim Regulations for OUC Non-Degree Education Management” and “Approval and Management Implementation Regulations of OUC Non-Degree Education Projects (Trial).”
With the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the continuing construction of the Xiong'an New District in Baoding, known as a "key strategic zone" and the "south gate of the Capital of China", a historic renewal has been initiated. Over the past 39 years, the development of Baoding Radio and TV University (Baoding RTVU) has kept pace with the economic and social development of Baoding.
On the morning of 10th July 2018, a graduation ceremony for grassroots cadres in Shandong rural and urban areas was held at Shandong Radio and TV University (Shandong RTVU).
On 12th July 2018, the 2018 Belt and Road Initiative Industrial Design and Financial Cooperation Seminar hosted by Hebei Radio and Television University (Hebei RTVU) was convened at Integration of Production, Education, and Innovation Mansion at the Heping Road Campus. The topic of the seminar was industrial design, finance, and cooperation in Hebei province. Hundreds of financial officers, scholars, and industrial representatives from more than ten countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, including China, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Zambia, Singapore, and Vietnam, participated in the conference.
On the afternoon of 5th July 2018, the inaugural meeting of the Association of Science and Technology and Cultural and Social Science Think Tank was held at Wuhan Radio and TV University (Wuhan RTVU).
12th July 2018 marked the completion ceremony for the online course “Appreciation and Creation of Traditional Chinese Landscape Paintings Moodle Platform”, an exchange and popularisation project from National Arts Fund in partnership with the Open University of China (OUC). The completion ceremony was held by the faculty and students on the project team from the OUC headquarters, Harbin branch, and Xi’an branch.
