For the purpose of enhancing both individual teachers and their teams, the Faculty of Forestry and Medicine held a teaching-skills competition in March and April of 2021. The competitors prepared their teaching presentations from the end of March until 21 April, and presented on 22 April. Teachers above a certain level acted as judges, while Yu Caiyuan, Wang Yan, Zhao Xinsheng, Zhao Tingting and Cao Qinzheng were the competitors.

On 22 April 2021, the Open University of China (OUC) held a video conference to review the work, and commend the winners, of the 6th China International Internet Plus College Student Innovation Competition (CIICSIEC). Instructions for preparations for the 7th competition were also delivered.

To enhance teaching skills, help its teachers grow, and select participants for the Teaching-skills Competition of the Open University of China (OUC), the OUC Faculty of Science and Engineering held an activity for teachers to discuss teaching and showcase their teaching skills on 6 April 2021. All teachers in the faculty attended.

To mark World Book and Copyright Day, the Learning Resources Department (Digital Library) and the Scientific-research Management Office of the Open University of China (OUC) jointly organised a lecture on WOS on 22 April 2021.

Recently, the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the China Federation of Literary and Art Associations jointly released a list of the top stage productions celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the CPC.

On 20 April 2021, under the guidance of the Lifelong-learning Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Educational-development Strategy (CSEDS) and the Chengdu Education Bureau, the Chengdu Office for the Promotion of Lifelong Education and Chengdu Open University (Chengdu OU) jointly held a ceremony for the establishment of the Southwest China Lifelong-learning Research Centre, a division of the CSEDS Lifelong-learning Professional Committee.

Fujian Open University for Older Adults (an internet-based university) has established a branch school (the Wende branch) in a joint effort with Fuzhou Wende Education Management, aiming to expand education of older adults, and explore combining it with care. On the afternoon of 21 April 2021, an opening ceremony was held in the community-home-care service centre in Xindian Town, Jin'an District, Fuzhou City.

The Party branch of the Logistics and Security Department of the Open University of China (OUC) has decided, starting in May 2021, to help a student having financial difficulties until she o is enrolled in university, aiming to consolidate the poverty-alleviation achievements of the university and develop activities related to study of the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in a down-to-earth manner.
