Editor’s note: On February 16, 2016, the Ministry of Education (MOE) issued a notice entitled, “ Recognition of Party Member's Vanguard Post: Outstanding Innovative Work and Excellent Research Report in 2015" (the fifth of the Educational Institution Party Committee, 2016). The Open University of China (OUC) Digital Library’s “Cooperative Service Work Method” was awarded “Excellent Innovative Work.”

On 28 February 2016, Bayi School’s outstanding graduate and first sergeant in one of the rocket force brigades, Wang Zhongxin, set off from his barrack to Beijing to attend the NPC & CPPCC sessions.

On January 21, 2016, the Open University of China (OUC) held the 2016 working conference. Both leaders and teaching staff attended the conference. During the conference, a summary was presented of the OUC’s construction progress over the past 5 years, providing clarification about the current situation.

On January 15, 2016, a press conference covering the selection results for 2015’s “Top 10 News Events in Modern Chinese Distance Education” was held in Beijing. The news selection campaign was sponsored by Distance Education in China.

In the afternoon of January 7, 2016, a three-person group led by Liu Ying, Director of the Urban and Rural Social Education Division under the Ministry of Education (MOE) Department of Vocational and Adult Education, came to The Open University of China (OUC) to conduct a study on non-degree education work.

On December 31, 2015, newly elected ATSE (Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering) Foreign Fellow Dr. Liu Ke, in his capacity as its part-time professor, visited Shaanxi RTVU to present an academic report to the university's academic committee members.

A press conference on the “Top 10 News Stories in 2015 Distance Education for Non-commissioned Officers” was recently held at the Open University of China’s (OUC) Bayi School. The Director of the National Non-commissioned Officer Distance Education and Training Coordination Group Office and Dean of Bayi School, Zhang Yichen, as well as heads of Bayi School and every faculty member attended the conference.

Selection results for the “Searching for ‘Dream Chasers’Activity Series– Excellent Disabled Students Across the OUC School System,” sponsored by China.org.cn, were recently formally unveiled. Thirty-seven individuals were recognized, including Olympic Champion Yang Bozun.
