On 29 September 2021, a seminar aiming to enhance the ability of OUC teachers to use information technology, focusing on methods, curriculum design for online teaching, and common tools, was launched in a live broadcast. The seminar was organised by the Department of External Education and Training and operated by the OUC Teacher Training School.

On 24 September 2021, the Organising Committee of the China International Internet Plus College Student Innovation Competition announced the projects shortlisted for the finals. Among the 150 projects in the vocational education category, 12 from the Experimental School of the Open University of China (OUC) as well as the Liaoning, Zhejiang, Qingdao, Henan, Wuhan, Hunan and Guangzhou branches made the list.

Deng Yangqing enrolled in the junior-college Agricultural Economic Management programme at the Shaxian workstation of Fujian Open University (Fujian OU) in the autumn of 2021. He was born in December 1928, and this year will see his 93th birthday.

On 23 September 2021, the Open University of China (OUC) held a video conference with the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL). Jing Degang, secretary of the OUC Party Committee and president of the OUC, and Mr David Atchoarena, director of the UIL, attended the meeting, which was presided over by Liu Zhanrong, director of the OUC International Department.

On the occasion of the 100th birthday of Mr. Yang Zhenning, theoretical physicist, and winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics, the OUC is looking back on when he was a lecturer at China Central Radio and Television University (CCRTVU), the predecessor of the Open University of China (OUC), in the 1990s. We extend him our best wishes on this special day!

The Learning Resources Department of the Open University of China (OUC) recently held a seminar on the construction of open education “Gold Courses” in order to implement the requirements that the university has put forward to “improve the quality and expand the capacity of learning resources in order to construct quality courses that meet the new demands of a new era and further enhance the OUC’s learner development quality.”

Tang Yingshan, a 1990 graduate of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, has taught Art at the Open University of China (OUC) for 30 years, mainly online, with his areas including sketching, oil painting, and other skills.
