Shi Chunhua studied in the junior college and undergraduate programmes in Logistics Management at the Postal School (Beijing Learning Centre) of the Open University of China (OUC) from 2017 to 2023. He currently works as a mail collector and deliverer at the Zhongguancun Business Department in Haidian District, Beijing. He has been awarded the National May 1st Labour Medal and the Capital Labour Medal.

Shi Chunhua has made countless hardships and efforts to grow from a novice knowing nothing about the postal express business to an expert. He earnestly studied professional knowledge and practiced skills hard. He memorized every building and every community in all sections of his jurisdiction, enabling him to quickly scan codes for orders, plan routes rapidly, and deliver parcels promptly, which greatly improved work efficiency. From 2020-2022, he successively provided business training for 1,032 postal employees in Haidian District, guiding couriers to improve their professional skills.

To enhance his own business capabilities and professional qualities, in the fall of 2017, Shi Chunhua enrolled in the Logistics Management (junior college) major at the OUC. During this period, he learned a great deal of basic theoretical knowledge required for his work. Whenever he encountered difficulties, he would consult his teachers immediately. Under the guidance of the teachers at the Beijing Learning Centre of the Postal School of the OUC, his academic performance improved steadily. After graduating in 2020, Shi Chunhua immediately continued to study in the Logistics Management (undergraduate) major.

Love One's Job and Be Dedicated, Serve Every Customer Wholeheartedly

As a mail collector and deliverer, Shi Chunhua bears double responsibilities. One is to deliver the incoming express parcels, and the other is to collect the outgoing ones. Once, a staff member from the Central Youth League School (China Youth University of Political Studies) found him and said with embarrassment that there were a large number of students' training records and transcripts to be sent, but the handling procedures and billing methods were very cumbersome. After hearing this, Shi Chunhua gladly accepted the task and kept in touch with the school every day to ensure everything was fool- proof. Eventually, he won the client's trust and reached a long-term cooperation with the client.

Base on One's Post and Endorse the Post with Practical Actions

Shi Chunhua loves the postal cause and endorses it with practical actions. He often says that although his job is ordinary, he loves the postal cause and will use this love to write his own youth and fulfill the responsibilities of the "national team".

In December 2020, Shi Chunhua was invited to participate in the CCTV live- link event of the "Express Business Volume Exceeding 80 Billion Pieces" by the State Post Bureau. At the live-broadcast site, he told heart-warming stories during the epidemic prevention and control period and introduced China Post's green action plan of "reducing packaging and slimming tapes". On 10 February, 2021, as a representative of express delivery workers across the country, Shi Chunhua attended the press conference of the State Council's joint prevention and control mechanism, telling about the changes in collecting and delivering mails during "Celebrating the New Year on-the-spot", making the image of the "national team" in the postal express industry more deeply rooted in people's hearts.

On 1 July,2021, as a representative of express delivery workers, Shi Chunhua participated in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. In August of the same year, in the "Green Express into Government Organs" activity jointly organised by the State Post Bureau and the National Government Offices Administration, Shi Chunhua introduced the design concept of the tape-free packing box and demonstrated its usage method, promoting the new concept of convenient, fast and environmentally-friendly packaging to a wide range of users and making the brand of postal express more prominent.

Light up Hope and Continuously Transmit Positive Energy

In December 2023, an earthquake occurred in Jishishan County, Gansu. Shi Chunhua wanted to do something for the disaster - stricken area. He actively contacted schools such as Bayi School and High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, and received positive responses from the schools. He organised students to carry out love donation activities, and a total of more than 10,000 pieces of clothes, cotton quilts, down jackets, etc. were donated to the welfare home in Jishishan County. These supplies were mailed to the disaster-stricken area immediately.

Shi Chunhua was also sincerely hired as an "off-campus counselor" by Beijing Bayi School of the Chinese Young Pioneers. On 14 January, 2024, organised by the Party committee, the student development centre, the school youth league committee and the young pioneers brigade committee of Beijing Bayi School, 20 young pioneers from the Red Cross Society of Bayi School and the third, fourth and fifth grades of the primary school department walked into the Zhongguancun Post Office of China Post in Haidian District. Shi Chunhua explained postal knowledge and the green packaging concept to the students.

Whether in study or work, Shi Chunhua has always been positive, carried forward the spirit of hard-working and endurance, and strived to practice the service tenet of "People's Post Serving the People", contributing his own strength to the postal cause.
