In October 2022, the Open University of China's (OUC) project titled "Fostering Digital Competency, Building Re-Employment Capacity, and Enhancing Well-being for Older Adults in the Digital Economy" was approved by the Budget and Management Committee of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

In alignment with the national strategy to foster education through scientific innovation and talent cultivation, a delegation led by Liu Xuanxuan, deputy secretary of the OUC Party Committee, visited the Institute of Science Education at Beijing Normal University on 22 March 2024.

On 20 March 2024, the Open University of China (OUC) held a seminar in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. The event aimed to explore the development and experiences of implementing course openness initiatives and multi-entry learning systems, with a focus on advancing the course openness pilot project.

On 20 March 2024, the unveiling ceremony of the Shandong University branch school of the Seniors University of China (SUC) and the thematic round-table meeting on continuing education work at Shandong University took place at the central campus of Shandong University.

Recently, a delegation led by Zhang Haigang, deputy editor-in-chief of 21st Century English Education Media at China Daily (abbreviated as 21st Century), visited the Open University of China (OUC, also known as the Seniors University of China, SUC).

In pursuit of advancing the integration of industry and education, exploring digital reforms and technological applications in finance and economics disciplines, and supporting the development of digital universities, on 19 March 2024, Liu Xuanxuan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Open University of China (OUC), led a delegation comprised of 18 individuals from the Faculty of Economics and Management along with the Department of Student Affairs and Teacher Development to China United Enterprise Management Group for research purposes.

To further expand the career development opportunities for disabled students and enhance their employment skills, the School for the Disabled at the Open University of China (OUC) recently hosted the opening ceremony for the "Fulfilling Angels' Dreams" public welfare skills training project.
