On 27 November 2024, a delegation led by Cai Guoying, former vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and president of Ningxia Elderly University, visited the Seniors University of China (SUC).

Wang Qiming, secretary of the Party Committee and president of the Open University of China (OUC, also known as SUC), met with Cai Guoying and his delegation. Fan Xianrui, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of the OUC (SUC), attended the symposium and exchanged views on the construction and development of the SUC.

Fan Xianrui presented the SUC’s advancements in its educational system, public service platforms, course resources, faculty team, distinctive initiatives, and international exchanges. She stated that in the future, the SUC will adhere to its educational philosophy of "Virtue, Learning, Health, Happiness, Accomplishment", further improve its educational service system, and work in concert with various parties to expedite the provision of elderly education resources.

Cai Guoying recognised the SUC's effective practical explorations since its establishment, which have marked a new chapter in elderly education. He stated that Ningxia Elderly University will fully utilise its educational advantages, collaborate with relevant parties, and jointly develop the SUC's Ningxia Branch to explore new models for elderly education development.

The delegation also visited the "Internet + University" Exhibition Centre at the OUC and the "Opening a New Chapter in China's Elderly Education" exhibition hall at the SUC.

Accompanying the delegation were Ha Yun, director of the Bureau for Retired Cadres of the CPC Committee of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and secretary of the Working Committee for Retired Cadres; Liu Yansheng, member and deputy secretary of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Committee of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region; and Ding Li, full-time vice president of Ningxia Elderly University, among others.
