The Open University UK (OUUK), a partner in the “Training for Online Learning Practitioners” project, has sent Dr. Martin Smith to the Open University of China (OUC) to help reform the project’s courses. Dr. Smith has held workshops with several course groups.

A delegation from New Zealand’s Massey University visited the Open University of China (OUC) on June 6, 2013. On the morning of June 4, more than 100 students from the Tourism School of Shenzhen RTVU at the OCT EAST joyfully entered the lecture hall in order to attend their graduation ceremony. They are the first graduates of the school. Deng Mengzhong, party secretary of the Shenzhen RTVU Party Committee and president of Shenzhen RTVU, Hu Xinsheng, vice president of Shenzhen RTVU, Zhuang Bao, president of the Sha Tau Kok Campus of Shenzhen RTVU, and Hong Weijun, vice general manager of the Shenzhen OCT EAST also attended the graduation ceremony.

On May 25, 2013, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Science, and President of the Chinese Association of Automation, Dai Ruwei, visited Guizhou Radio & TV University (Guizhou RTVU) to deliver an excellent lecture entitled He Made the Country Strong — The Qian Xuesen I Knew.

On May 25, 2013, the activity “Fragrance of Tea Enters the Community”, hosted by Fujian Radio and TV University (RTVU), was launched in Fujian's famous cultural and historical district known as "three lanes and seven alleys". Fujian RTVU also established the Learning Association of Three Lanes and Seven Alleys as the first “Lifelong Education and Community Education Experimental Base of Fujian RTVU”.

On May 25th 2013, campus recreational activities were organized by Xi’an RTVU School for the Disabled, and scores of students from the school participated. Competitive events included ping-pong and tug-of-war, and were divided into mens' and womens' categories. The top three winners were chosen after preliminary, semi-final, and final matches, with prizes awarded to the first, second, third place finishers and participants.

On May 28, "Mobile RTVU” software, which was cooperatively developed by Jinhua Radio & TV University (Jinhua RTVU), Jinhua Branch of China Unicom and China National Software & Service Co., Ltd, was officially launched in Jinhua city. The launch ceremony was attended by Huang Xiaohang and Lin Danjun, vice mayors of Jihua, Lu Fang, member of the Party Committee and vice-president of Zhejiang RTVU, and Tong Haibo, vice-president of the Zhejiang Branch of China Unicom.
