In order to learn about the effects of the implementation of "one college student per village" programme, summarize experience in the degree education of farmers, and work out a new round of “Farmer College Students' Training Programme”, Huaihua Radio and TV University (Huaihua RTVU) in Hunan recently paid a return visit to  the "one college student per village" programme participants, investigated and learned about their business start-ups, their living and learning situations after graduation, learn about their self-evaluation of their learning experience in participating in the "one college student per village" programme, and listen to their views and suggestions on the implementation of the "Farmer College Students' Training Programme".

According to the feedback of some graduates in this return visit, Huaihua RTVU has achieved remarkable results in the full implementation of "one college student per village" programme from 2008 and 2011. During their study experience, they established a profound friendship with their teachers and the university.

Yang Shengliang, a student who majored in Rural Administration beginning in Autumn 2011, and village Party Branch Secretary of Nanmupu Village, Tongmu Town, Zhongfang County is one of the graduates of this kind. On the one hand, he insisted on participating in the face-to-face tutorials and online learning in the "one college student per village" programme, diligently studying topics such as scientific management, business knowledge, and agricultural science and technology, achieving excellent academic results. In 2013, he won the "Field of Hope" scholarship awarded by the OUC (aka CCRTVU). On the other hand, he applied his knowledge and technical experience to the construction of new rural construction, leading the villagers to expand the cultivation areas of grapes and peaches, increase production volume, improve quality, and expand the market. In the past three years, per capita income and collective economic income of Nanmupu village have reached a new level year after year. In 2011, Nanmu village was rated as a "rural science demonstration base in Hunan Province". Also in 2012, Yang Shengliang was rated as one of the "Top 10 village Party branches", and in 2013, he was named "top ten newsmakers of Huaihua". In 2014, he was named as an "outstanding communist". Yang Shengliang felt honored to be enrolled in the "one college student per village" programme. He said that through two and a half years of study, he not only took in knowledge about rural grass-roots management, but also updated his concepts, and broadened his horizon and mind.

Yang Shengping, an agricultural economy management major enrolled in Autumn 2009, and village Party Branch Secretary of Hujia Village, Jielong Town, Zhongfang County, participated in the programme and gained knowledge, updated concepts, and also made a lot of friends. Through his study in the programme, he enhanced his entrepreneurial confidence. He suggested that in the future, education and training of RTVU undergraduate farmers should strengthen the teaching of practical techniques and enhance exchanges among students.

The personnel who paid the return visit said that the activity has promoted the understanding and friendship between teachers and students. Meanwhile, the hardships and achievements made in business start-ups has also educated and inspired them, enhancing their confidence in the implementation of the next round of "Farmer College Students' Training Programme".
