In order to better adapt to the demands of course construction and teaching design in the new era, the Learning Resources Department of the Open University of China (OUC) recently invited Professor Mark Endean from the Open University, UK (OU) to visit the OUC.

During his visit, Professor Endean gave a one-day exchange and share seminar on the OU’s course development and teaching design. The seminar was hosted by Du Ruo, director of the OUC Learning Resources Department and attended by relevant personnel from the Learning Resources Department, the Information Technology Department, and the Learner Support and Student Affairs Centre.

Professor Endean introduced some of the OU’s projects, including the Learning Design Process, the Open Science Laboratory, and the OU’s course development process, and interacted with the learners onsite.

In the future, the OUC Learning Resources Department and the School of Science and Engineering will jointly cooperate with renowned domestic MOOCs platform,, and introduce the Fundamentals of Electric Circuits MOOC video course to serve degree education at the university.

Du Ruo stated that the Learning Resources Department (Library) will continue to strengthen exchange and cooperation with external educational institutions and course platforms, play a leading role in course development within the OUC school system, and work positively to export quality courses from the OUC school system to society and introduce quality courses from external resources into the OUC system.
