The year 2023 is the beginning of the implementation of the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and a key year in the transition from the 13th Five-Year Plan to the 14th Five-Year Plan.
China’s Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced the results of a high-profile speaking competition, with two candidates from the Open University of China (OUC) awarded prizes. The theme of the youth speech contest was titled: “Implementing the Guiding Principles of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, Embarking on the New Journey of Making Contributions to the Nation. ”
In order to fully implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, promote digitalisation of education, and accelerate the construction of digital universities, on 17-18 March 2023, Fan Xianrui, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of the OUC, led a team to investigate the digitalisation work at the Hubei branch.
On the morning of 17 March 2023, as scheduled, the first class of the new school year began at the Seniors University of China (SUC). Mr. Zhang Boli, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a grandmaster of Chinese medicine, and an honourary president of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, gave a lecture titled "Traditional Chinese Medicine Aiding Elderly Health" to senior friends across the country.
The Eighth Biennial Chinese Excellent Publication Award was unveiled in Beijing on 22 February 2023. Lectures on Science Popularisation by 100 Academicians and Experts (2nd Edition), which was jointly planned by the Open University of China (OUC) and the Work Bureau of Academic Division of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and produced by OUC Multimedia Press affiliated to the OUC Publishing & Media Group, received a publication award in the category of audio-visual and electronic publications.
In order to deepen the study and implementation of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and promote the strategic action of digitalisation of education, the Open University of China (OUC) and Tsinghua University recently conducted a special exchange on digital work.
To promote the high-quality development of the Open University of China (OUC), the OUC’s School of Art has launched the "Art Master Lectures".
The All-China Women's Federation recently held a conference in Beijing to commemorate and honour International Women's Day. Several female role models were recognised at the event. Comrade Hu Xing, executive vice chair of the Labour Union and associate researcher at the Open University of China (OUC), was named "National Female Role Model with Outstanding Achievements" during the event.
